Jen Sorensen has been doing a weekly editorial comic since 1998. Since its start, she has won numerous awards (including seven from the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies) and was a finalist for the Herblock Prize in 2012. Her work has appeared in the Village Voice, L.A. Times, Daily Kos, MAD Magazine, Nickelodeon Magazine and many, many more. Her art is vibrant and precise, and her commentary is razor sharp. Populated by recurring characters and a caustic wit, this is not a comic for the fainthearted.

Economies are like global warming: cyclic events only to be managed through yet never managed. Better to seek practical solutions than waste time on speculative causes. And as far as “experts” are concerned: if the problems are so well understood, then why are they still problems?

Is Sorenson a new cartoonist? I don’t recall this artist prior to Thanksgiving. I’ve not seen a toon worth its ink yet.
@win – A winning comment neighbor. Very well stated. Thank you.
Respectfully,

The way to deal with a extortionists, kidnappers and sabateurs is to destroy them mercilessly.

Probably not going to happen, but fun to picture in my twisted mind.

“…if the problems are so well understood, then why are they still problems?”
Because some people refuse to believe/admit the problems exist or that they need fixing. Others would rather use it as another political wedge issue.

@Respectful Troll
Jen was over on the regular comic pages with the strip “Slowpoke”. This is actually the same strip, she just dropped the name. I think too many people complained that it was too political to be on the other half of the site.

Hmm. Maybe they should have traded for “Wit of the World,” which has never been a political cartoon. Not a bad cartoon, by the way.

(Disclosure: I’m the guy you either loved to hate or hated to love when you “knew” me as Dredpiraterobt$. I’ll be posting as RV from here on out.)

I think this cartoon is pretty good.

I don’t want to spend time on it because I’m semi obsessed with Gun Control vs. Gun Rights right now. But I like this one.

Because of the human factor. And some want these problems to use for their own purposes.

So howcome Jen Sorensen is under J and not S.
Michael Ramsey is under R not M.
Can anyone explain this anarchistic system?
