    Yep! Once you graduate from college, then begins the everlasting payments for all those loans you had to take out… ;)

    Yes when the kids get out of school they find out if their degree is worth anything besides McMinimum wage.
    Most should have gone to trade school.

    The biggest problem is the rush to eliminate jobs. It doesn’t matter if you have the skills if there are constantly 10 applicants for each opening.

    @Ruff
    If it is shown to work in other countries, we can’t use it here. We’re exceptional.

    Except that many of the jobs you would learn to do in trade schools are being shipped overseas so company management can save money on trivial things such as worker safety, wages, and pollution controls.

    We (and other English-speaking countries) have unpaid internships as a requirement for an executive track position. Those who can’t afford to work for several years without pay are thereby fortuitously filtered out.

    (Not really a problem in the US: the unpaid internships that really lead to executive positions only go to students from the most elite universities, all of whom have adequate financial resources by virtue of matriculating at those elite universities, either from their families or from banks who know that such students will always be good for the loans.)

    So, if everybody moves to trades clearly the wages will not be driven downward correct ?

    The government CAN create jobs, meaningful jobs that will undergird the country’s development for years to come. Turn off the Deflation Depression Stagnation Rush Fox Noise and vote for good, inclusive governance instead of governance by and for the Point One Percent. It’s growth that’s wanted, new growth. Murdoch Ailes and Rush are fully grown, in fact their super sized, and couldn’t care less.
