The ONLY “Race” that is important, is the human Race!!

What would happen if a person needing blood was able to say, “I only want blood from somebody of my own race.” There were several men from my childhood who declared their aversion to getting blood that came from… nonwhites.
Perhaps conservatives and liberals could even demand that any blood they need must come from people who think like them.
We need each other. I have a new cornea that came from a person I do not know. Was he/she republican?, conservative? Did he/she believe in God or care about the environment? I’ll never know, but I do know that without that person’s willingness to help others by being a tissue donor, my eye would not have been repaired. Others are getting livers, lungs, kidneys, and of course, pints and pints of blood.
In a civil society, the first requirement of a successful democracy, it is easy to take such generosity for granted. I am grateful and humbled.
    Respectfully,
    C.

It is a stupid commercial with a kid wasting food.

I’m not perturbed by racist idiots complaining about a commercial. In fact, I hope they get so worked up about things like that that they forget to do something harmful, like vote.

I think the commercial is cute, especially the little girl.

But what’s more interesting is who plays the dad in that commercial—Charles Malick Whitfield.

If you remember his role in Simon Baker’s TV Show before “The Mentalist” called “The Guardian”, then you would remember this actor.

As for any racist remarks out there, it’s best just to leave those alone and ignore them—giving those attention and giving the people who make them that attention just gives them a reason to continue making them.

It’s when some of those “attention-getters” decide that they want to do something else other than rant that something else needs to be done about them.

^^ I don’t know if ALL Democrats are racist just because they fought to keep slavery and were against the Civil Rights Act, but maybe you know them better than I do.

Those specific Democrats are all dead now. They’re offspring changed to being Republicans after Johnson pushed through the Civil Rights Act.

Not this again. The majority of Democrats voted for the Civil Rights Act. Democrats provided more votes than Republicans to pass the Civil Rights Act. Everett Dirksen’s role in passing the Civil Rights Act may have been the last moment of decency of the GOP. That was 50 years ago.

We all know that the Southern Democrats who voted against Civil Rights either repented their racist attitudes like Byrd, or switched parties, like Strom Thurmond.

Republicans favor laws that limit young women’s access to contraception & yes, abortion, thus perpetuating the cycle of poverty. They almost always forget those principles when they are faced with unwanted pregnancy.
