It should’ve been needed during the first term(when most of Barry’s scandals occurred) but the media made sur to keep it quiet until after the election.

Maybe what is needed is some Prozac to help deal with the psychotic episodes that have the lunatic fringe seeing “scandals” everywhere.

The only “scandal” I see is the one involving the IRS. All of the rest of this administration’s problems reflect on the competence and priorities of his appointees.

People are justifiably disgusted and angry that nothing’s being done and all they can do now is complain and whine and shake their fists into the air at nothing.

We used to be a “can-do” nation. Now that metaphorical border of incompetence, corruption and greed has moved north from the Rio Grande to the Great Lakes.

Sad, but maybe Canada will inspire us one day.

Scandals? The only scandal in the first term was the decision by the GOP to use all possible force to keep anything that could possibly help America and Americans from getting done, lest Obama get some of the credit.

Oh, but here in Canada we have a couple of real scandals — the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff had to resign because he cut a personal cheque (note the Canadian spelling) to cover the repayments by a Senator of illegal expense claims, and the Mayor of Toronto is facing allegations he was caught on a cellphone video smoking crack. These are real scandals, not the phoney scandals the Republicans are trying to create in the US.

I was born in the US, I have a US passport, I file US taxes (and Canadian). I think I’m entitled to comment on US politics.

    An indellible Canada memory …

I was in Toronto in January of 2012 watching CTV’s morning news show and it featured a live speech by Stephen Harper celebrating a public-private partnership to open a ship-building operation in Nova Scotia.

No screaming. No barbies or kens pontificating behind a big shiny logo. No NEWS ALERTS. Just a “conservative” leader standing in front of a bunch of union hard-hats celebrating something that seems obviously worth celebrating: bringing needed industry to a place that needed jobs but couldn’t do it without government assistance.

Flipping back to CNN to see what was happening back in the states, Soledad O’Brien was at a diner arguing with six different people about a book. They were all talking over themselves much to the chagrin of the people who weren’t expecting their usual morning to be interrupted by screaming “news” experts about a popular non-fiction book.

I know Canada has scandals (including Toronto’s mayor who had some other silly fist-fighting scandal at that time) and I know that Canadians are quick to point out their own political quirks, but damn it the “can do” attitude that was once America has become the boring news north of our border.

Reminds me of something Canadians used to say that’s probably irrelevant today:

Canada was born with the hope that it would combine the best of French culture, British politics and American know-how. Instead, they got French politics, British know-how and American culture.

I like Canada and Canadians, for they do seem to have something that has been forgotten in America, and that is an irrelevant sense of humor!!
