    You’ve got it wrong, again, Jeff. Only the Libs want to control everything. NRA is for citizen empowerment, free from government interference, and individual responsibility.

    Next thing you know you will need a photo ID to buy everything. & Guess what I have yet to find a clerk that even looks at it when it is required anywhere.

    @Ms. Ima

    There are plenty of organizations. They are called Police Departments.

    I’d be ashamed to put justice in my name. There is no justice in this country any more.

    Video games and Hollywood create pressure cooker violence.

    I’ve heard that fallacious argument many times, but it’s not true. Manufacturers may be NRA members, and make large contributions (why wouldn’t they?), but as an individual member, I can tell you the leadership represents most of us very well. It appears you have been misled. Care to tell us who did that?

    I have to show an ID every time I use my credit card because I printed “ASK FOR ID” on the back instead of signing.

    Sigh. I had hoped to live long enough to see this turn into a civilised country. But time is running out….

    Let us see here. We need to put those small RFD tags into everything that is bought and you will be tagged with all your purchases. how about that? A gun or Kitchen knife with an RFD tag. Sounds more like a liberal wet dream then something the NRA would support.

    “Only the Libs want to control everything.”

    “Everything” covers a lot of subjects. History shows that conservatives have a lot of issues concerning control of reproduction, types of sexual activity, and abortion and marital rights. Here in Virginia, our conservatives proposed and passed a constitutional amendment that ensures gays cannot marry, and that any homosexual marriages that are legal in other states will still not be recognized here. To my knowledge, we are the only ones who have ever used our Constitution to REMOVE rights.

    No mindset has a monopoly on a desire to control. The only question is what type of control is a priority.

    July 24, 2012 – Mayors Against Illegal Guns released the findings of a recent survey by GOP pollster Frank Luntz showing that NRA members and gun owners overwhelmingly support a variety of laws designed to keep firearms out of dangerous hands. The survey’s key findings include that 87 percent of NRA members agree that support for Second Amendment rights goes hand-in-hand with keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, and 74 percent of NRA members and 87 percent of non-NRA gun owners support requiring criminal background checks of anyone purchasing a gun.

    Got that? Poll by GOPer who is on Fox News says 74% of NRA members want background checks yet the NRA opposed them.
