Ain’t that the truth! All this commercialism is bad enough, but the underlying concept of “Obey your Masters and there will be Rewards” is even worse (“masters” would be parents in this instance). It continues through all of our lives: you have to wine and dine a woman in order to get a leg over, you have to grovel in front of the boss in order to get a bonus, it’s always the same and we learn it as children…

That IS just a bit cynical, isn’t it?

Work hard, show up every day, love what you do and you will be successful in life. If you aren’t paid what you are worth you are free to change jobs or start your own business. Unions are the opposite.

Money is power and absolute power corrupts absolutely. What happened to the idea that it wasn’t necessary for a company to sell ALL of one type of product, but to sell enough to cover costs and give everyone a good living wage? When did stockholders put the value of their dividends so far above the needs of the employees who make those dividends possible? When did CEOs begin earning salaries and bonuses so high as to cut deeply into the compensation of workers as well as the dividends of shareholders?
Capitalism is a very good method of exchanging services, but currency trading and hypertrades as well as other manipulations are hurting everybody. Even those who are currently benefiting will one day have to face the results of their greed. Greed is NOT good. Innovation, invention, safety, and a secure working class IS good.
Respectfully,
& Happy Holidayze.

Mom’s on food stamps because her minimum wage job as a Walmart cashier doesn’t make ends meet. Dad’s still on unemployment because most of the manufacturing facilities in town moved to China. Gramps is on disability because of land mine that blew of 2 limbs and damaged a third back in ’Nam. Yup, it certainly is the Republican way of life.

Not a real problem as your posts are generally well though out. Something that those of us that are neither too liberal nor too conservative can well appreciate!

You think of your parents as your masters? What kind of family life did you have?

NOPE!
Face reality, the Democrat way of life!

@ConserveGov
And you have demonstrated, through your intolerant ignorance, many times that you think anyone who isn’t hanging on by their fingernails after falling off the far right edge of the political spectrum is “too liberal”. If the scale goes from 100 to 0 back up to 100, right-middle-left even someone who is a “99” on the CONservative side is too liberal for you and your masters. Pathetic, truly pathetic.
