Probably right, if she was a conservative she would be hoping he would get in an accident so she could get her hands on the insurance money.
Plus if he died, she wouldn’t have to help take care of him.

12th grade is hard for liberals. It takes them FOREVER to graduate.

If you’d ever even seen 12th grade it’d be a wonder.

“Liberals” FOUNDED this country, dammit! The “conservatives” fled to other British possessions- or shut up.

It is true that elderly drivers have accidents. I’ve seen the results out on the interstate roads because they drive so slow they can’t get to the rest stop before they pee their pants.

There are way too many takers on both sides of the fence. I have lived in the Philippines since I sold my house and small trucking company in 2004. Where I go for coffee some mornings there are about 30 retired Americans that hang out there, most of them are Republicans that sound just like you, and almost all of them are double, and triple dippers

You are correct. American conservatives who wished to retain the traditional Crown fled north, and founded socialist Canada.

    (Figure THAT out.)

Not all of them Benedict Arnold and many more went back to England.

I would say there was almost a three hundred year time gap there.

I do recall lands promised to Americans for helping the British Crown. They ended up in Nova Scotia. The farming was tough in the cold rocky terrain.

Stahler’s comic is correct. The new drivers, inexperienced 16 year olds, and the elderly, both have higher accident rates. Driving among impatient, angry, speeding, crazy citizens is tough if you suffer from macular degeneration, cataracts, arthritis, and slower reflexes. The patients I know who have disabled plates on their cars, tell me how they dive safely, yet get flipped off, tailgated, cut off, and generally abused by inpatient younger drivers around them.

When my mom at 86 drove (aimed) me from Stapleton airport to Littleton, and only ran 4 red lights, I suggested, after changing my underwear, she might at least be tested for competence behind the wheel. My brother thought she was fine, but then his wife has narcolepsy and had only run over four people on motorcycles, up to that time.

When my license was last again renewed for 8 years, so not testing, not even vision until I turn 74. Sorry, but that’s ludicrous. I really feel that at least without additional costs, every driver over 70 should have at least a vision test to make sure they can see. (I once stopped a legally blind driver, who’d just gotten his license renewed, and was all over the road. He was 86, I had his 22 year old “girlfriend” take over the driving, and pulled his license.)

I’ve been a licensed racing driver, trained pursuit driving to police, and picked way too many bodies off the road, and out of vehicles in law enforcement, and as an EMT. Yes, we DO need to get dangers off the road, like older drivers with physical problems, and morons using cell phones while driving (now up to about 88% of “drivers”).

I would be quite happy if the state DID start making sure at my age, I’’m still a safe driver. (But then don’t we all think so, including the folks in the fast lane of the freeway doing 45 in a 70mph zone, and refusing to “drive right”?)
