It’s the one they should go back to using! Eisenhower, and many others of that day (okay, discounting McCarthy and his morons) had some self respect, and were willing to work for the country, and had actually read the Constitution. Okay, there was that “under God” b.s. in the pledge, but that wasn’t actually law.

They could learn a thing or two from O’s style of talking to everybody like they are 5. Seems to work on Dems.

GOP etiquette, thats an oxymoron.

Although I generally back that sentiment: could you elaborate?

Just read an article on BBC about how frugal Germans are when throwing a party. Well, I never had thought about that, but it’s basically correct. There are other traits that several European nations embody and that could help the U.S., but it might be hard to figure out what you want from what nation. Italian styling – yes. Italian engineering – not so much :-)
DISCLAIMER: I know that Fiat has become much, much better than it was when I was a mechanic, but boy oh boy was that bad…

I’m with you on this, although you have to keep in mind that the sexual revolution hadn’t happened back then and theh GOP of the 50’s wouldn’t have liked that one bit…

“The USA should be more like Europe.”
Broke? Dependent on America for food and money? Socialist? Believe in the global warming religion instead of God? Forced to pay confiscatory taxes? Can’t afford gas or cars?
Or are you talking about their ‘fun’ drug and prostitution laws?

Oh there you go again with Politically Correct Police, squelching my opinions on how gays and immigrants and women and the lower income 47% are imperiling my America.

I think the ’toon is directed toward the insesitivity towards women. The GOP should have empathy aimed at the female voters.

You mean the republicans blocking every move to get the country going?

Umm, the USA has a GDP of just about $16 trillion dollars, the European Union has a GDP of just about $18.6 trillion, I do not think that we in the US either need to, nor are about to have to bail the European Common Market out of anything.
Please, Oh please, at least make some small attempt at learning the facts before putting your hands on your keyboard to post on these comment boards. That way, you would at least have some degree of credibility here!!

Other than the “dependent on America for food” the answer is yes.
.
“belief in global warming instead of God”
I do not see that as an either/or choice, belief in God has no bearing on the temperature of the earth. God does not roll that way.

And yet the reps still can’t understand what President Obama is saying to them.

Great example with Greece, it’s a perfect example of the extremes of both sides of our political argument. Excessively high government sector employment, ridiculously low retirement age, AND tax evasion as a national sport. Perfect example of what happens when the citizenry refuses to support the government that protects and provides for them. Think about it, the reDUMBlicans demand lower taxes is nearly equivalent to the Greeks evading paying taxes. And the bribes they pay to avoid paying taxes, aren’t those de facto taxes just the same? Idiots, just like the RWNJ’s.
