Love thy neighbor. Sure, as long as they’re not one of, you know, those people.

But what about The Golden Rule of Politics? Do unto others before they do unto you.

Reminds me of an incident 3 years ago when one of my “conservative” neighbors put a note in my mail box informing me that gays don’t deserve marriage equality because they’re unable to experience “love” the way straight people do.

Yup. That’s the real meaning of Jesus’ teachings. Thanks, Jeff, for pointing out the obvious.

And that Love goes both ways. I ask you… who is shouting louder about the shortcomings of the other side. Intolerance is not a crime. Jesus loved in spite of our shortcomings. His “tolerance” only went so far as “go sin no more” and carried with it a dire warning… that many “of you here today, crying out Lord, Lord, will not see the kingdom of Heaven.” It is not ours to point out the speck in our neighbor’s eye, but to address the plank in our own. Yes… absolutely… love thy neighbor “as yourself” is the key, but it takes a long look in the mirror to determine how much we love ourselves and then the willingness to transfer that to our neighbors… warts and all.

Apparently there are a lot of people who don’t understand the obvious.. They just have to try to impose their will on others because they are so much smarter or righteous.

The enemies of the United States could not do a better job than our political parties are doing to divide us on issue after issue.

As a member of the “straight people” (heterosexual male) I am deeply saddened by the bigotry you were subjected to. It was not me, but I am sorry.

And how conveniently people forget that this is the second greatest commandment. Jesus said the first is to "Love God " above all else. And He said these were the greatest commandments, not the only ones.

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven…”
    Matthew 5:44-45

Jesus ate with sinners; who are these hypocrites who won’t serve them their meal?

Driving through or into Indiana? Fill-up before entering and after leaving and if you must visit, buy only enough fuel while there to make your exit safely and then refuel. Refuse to pay fuel taxes to bigoted quasi-Christians… there’s a boycott for you!!!

Still looking for the Final Solution to the Gay question? Move to Indiana. There’s a booming business there building gas chambers.

We love to exaggerate, don’t we? This is not about serving a meal to a gay person. It is about a business endorsing gay marriage. I don’t know of a single Christian business that would not serve gays. I’m sure that most Christian bakers would make a birthday cake for a gay individual. But forcing, via threat of lawsuit or bankruptcy, someone to make a cake that endorses a view (i.e., gay marriage)they disagree with? Well, now, that’s an example of “kindness and tolerance,” isn’t it?

You’re a bit off. It’s “Do unto others if they don’t vote for you”.
