I’m happy that he is happy but Apple products are still rotten to the core.

One thing I find strange is why gay people feel compelled to declare their sexual proclivities to the public. I personally don’t really care and get very tired about the publicity this small percentage of the populations seems to crave.

I thought Tim’s acknowledgment of that which he had not hidden was not a “look at me” moment.
He did put a spot light on the reality that many are gay….and so what.

He’s the first (unless you count the CEO of Quark Xpress), and firsts matter. Good for him. And because in much of the country, you wouldn’t need any reason other than this to legally fire the man.

So what? there are many more heterosexuals in the world and we don’t make a big deal of it. It was all prepared before hand; someone was to ask him the question so he could answer in public. And Ted Lind, if it tires you stop buying Apple products, they crappy and overpriced anyway. While you are it stop buying Cheerios too. The homosexual community likes to boycott businesses and products, lets do the same. Any one who wants to get out of the closet good for you, but the only ones who care are homosexuals, leave the rest of us out of it.

The right-wing worries about the 2% that are gay. The left about the one percent that are rich. Nobody worries about building a better mouse-trap. In ten years we will all be in food lines getting soup from a robot.

Trouble is many people DO make a loud big deal out of it (and perhaps many more make a very quiet Big deal out of it). Many countries make a loud big deal out of it. Many religions make a loud big deal out of it. Many businesses make a very quiet Big deal out of it.
By coming out to the general public Tim Cook is letting everyone know it is not a big deal to be gay. The more we normalise LGBTs to society, the less need to high-light the discrimination.

I worked in the aerospace industry for some 37.5 years. I knew that at least some of my fellow workers were gay, but they never pushed any kind of an agenda on any of the rest of us, and were not only good people, but terrific fellow workers. As long as that was true, the rest of we fellow workers could care less just what their sexual orintations were!!

“getting soup from a robot…” Until the robots realize they don’t need us…

Because there are still millions of people in this country who think that he and all others like him are “lesser” because of one line in one holy book (which contains plenty of other lines they just ignore, because otherwise they’d be “lesser”).
