    Since I’m inclined to agree with you, how about data? How much did healthcare.gov say your premiums, deductible, and co-pay would be, vs the cost of the tax for not signing up?

    Or are you covered by your employer, totally unaffected by the ACA, and just repeating what you’ve heard from Ashley Dionne?

    DITCH MITCH 2014!
    And yes, I live in Kentucky, the state saddled with the two WORST Senators in the entire country, Turtle-Boy himself, and Rand “The Twit-in-Training” Paul.

    “….vs the cost of the tax for not signing up?”

    I can’t help you on individual cost change on coverage. I do know that some insurance companies are withdrawing individual coverage in some states, California being the most notable.

    As for the tax (listed as penalty in the PPACA), from ‘‘SEC. 5000A. REQUIREMENT TO MAINTAIN MINIMUM ESSENTIAL COVERAGE.

    ‘‘(A) IN GENERAL.—Except as provided in subparagraphs (B) and ©, the applicable dollar amount is $750.
    ‘‘(B) PHASE IN.—The applicable dollar amount is $95 for 2014 and $350 for 2015.
    ‘‘© SPECIAL RULE FOR INDIVIDUALS UNDER AGE 18.—
    If an applicable individual has not attained the age of 18 as of the beginning of a month, the applicable dollar amount with respect to such individual for the month shall be equal to one-half of the applicable dollar amount for the calendar year in which the month occurs.
    ‘‘(D) INDEXING OF AMOUNT.—In the case of any calendar year beginning after 2016, the applicable dollar amount shall be equal to $750, increased by an amount equal to—
    ‘‘(i) $750, multiplied by
    ‘‘(ii) the cost-of-living adjustment determined under section 1(f)(3) for the calendar year, determined by substituting ‘calendar year 2015’ for ‘calendar year 1992’ in subparagraph (B) thereof.
    If the amount of any increase under clause (i) is not a multiple of $50, such increase shall be rounded to the next lowest multiple of $50.

    Not much of a penalty incentive to induce young adults to join the insurance pool.

    Halvin, based on the opus of Enoki’s commentary, he is a very unhappy person and would like everyone else to be equally unhappy.

    You do know that the “Meth Capital of Alaska” was Sarah Palin’s hometown, where she was mayor, right?

    Believable given that Anchorage and the towns around it, Palin’s being one, represent like 95% of the state’s population….
    .
    But, what does that have to do with anything here other than you makeing a gratiutious ad hominen at Palin?
    .
    If it was intended as some jab at me it was wasted as I could care less about Palin. She was a flash in the TEA Party’s pan and that has nothing to do with me in any case.

    @1opinion

    ad ho·mi·nem/æd ˈhɒmənəm -ˌnɛm, ɑd‐/ Show Spelled [ad hom-uh-nuhm -nem, ahd‐] Show IPA
    adjective
    1. appealing to one’s prejudices, emotions, or special interests rather than to one’s intellect or reason.
    2. attacking an opponent’s character rather than answering his argument.
    .
    I choose 2 as the example for motivemagus’ answer. First, it does not answer my argument. Second, assumes I am an idiot or otherwise unaware of someone motivemagus has assumed I am familiar with as a slight to his third assumption that I am associated with the TEA Party, or Sarah Palin’s political views and agree with those.

    Thus, it is an ad hominen. So…?

    @Nantucket19

    No, I brought it up as part of an obvious, or it should have been, reference to pop culture and the show Breaking Bad. I made no referrence to any politician nor any party in doing it just a jab at government in general.
