I think the Brits got the best idea, this time.

I read the news before the toons.
    .
President Obama and the white house are launching a pro-war media blitz pushing the attack on Syria.
    .
It looks like the President wants to kill Syrians now matter what the people who elected him think about it.
    .
Tough to support our president under these circumstances.

Going to war without Britain the US can handle. Going to war with France as an ally is like bringing a mime with an accordian on a hunting trip: The mime is useless and makes alot of noise with the accordian runing everything.

I think the Brits were smart: Obama and the French making a “drive by” missile strike on Syria is about as stupid a policy as building the Magniot Line was…

Obama was supported by the military industrial banking complex, as Molly Ivins used to say,
You Got to Dance With Them What Brung You

Cornwallis would have disagreed with you about how Americans benefit from French aid.

The British Parliament has told the PM that after "W"’s story, “fool me twice”, Afghanistan and Iraq, was too much for them to trust us again!

Maybe this time the Brits don’t want to fix the facts to fit the policy.

While, granted, the French did assist us in winning our revolutionary war, siding with them in the last 100 years has never proven to be a good idea.

The news was updated, the President threw it to congress.
    .
Good move, he thinks we will hate congress for sending US to war.
Wrong, we cannot think any less of congress, it was the presidents choice to stand down and he did not.
    .
Even if congress declines war (fat chance) the President still tried and this will be remembered by liberals as well as those who hate him on general principles.

The British Prime Minister failed to convince parliament that the best way to deal with a humanitarian crisis was to fire missiles at it. A victory for common sense.

The only way you’re going to get peace in that part of the
world is by dismantling and constructively realigning the artificial states carved out of the Ottoman Empire by Wilson and the new colonial powers, Britain and France, after WW1. Times have changed, and you won’t achieve that by sending a gunboat, only by a long process of diplomacy.

By the way, the stereotypes of France do make you Yanks look a little foolish. Time to move into the 21st Century …

@Mstephenson: you missed the mark in both comments. 1. Obama isn’t the ONLY one pushing for a “surgical” solution in Syria. He’s being played by an entrenched military industrial complex that has him blindfolded. He’s their stooge now. 2. You only need to look back one president to find one who was more pro-war than Obama. You are entitled to your opinions, but not to your own set of facts. I’m against any armed interference in the Middle East (or anywhere), and I think our president is making a big mistake. Lets try stating facts okay?
