Jeff Danziger provides a scathing international take on politics, finance, and everything else you aren’t allowed to discuss at the dinner table. Combining spot-on caricatures with razor-sharp writing, this feature will make you listen a little more closely to what they tell you on the news.

Blessed is a rather odd way of putting that little fact.
.
But then odd is the way those obsessed by little willie behave.
Or is it possessed.

Not being represented in choosing God’s leader means the females are not bound by the edicts coming from the chosen???

Legend has it that in the 9th century, after Pope Leo IV died, a woman who had impersonated a man and had risen through the ranks of the clergy to become a Cardinal, was elected pope. The deception was not noticed until she had been pope for 3 years. (Supposedly, they found out when she was riding a horse and went into labor. Legend has it she was stoned to death.)
-
After that, the Church required that the pope elect had to sit on one of two “sedia stercoraria” – marble chairs with a hole cut in the middle. The pope elect would disrobe and sit on the chair, and the Cardinals would look through the hole to determine that the person was, indeed, a man.

I would worship God but for the fact that narcissism just isn’t my thing.

I was under the impression that they did not look but, instead reached under and felt for the holy marbles…

So….you don’t worship God because of how OTHER people misrepresent Him instead of finding out for yourself? Do you also not drive cars because other people have crashed them? Do you not swim because people have been known to drown? Do you not eat sandwiches because someone might’ve choked on one? You don’t do things because of other people??? Wow, stay inside and you won’t get hurt…oh wait, no…houses have been known to burn down. You’re screwed…

Danziger is an idiot who’s anti-Catholic. Why? What’s his beef? It is what it is. Get over it or better yet, pick another religion. Novel idea isn’t it? Letting people worship as they wish and not knock it. Would you say this about Islam?

Showing the Church’s behavior isn’t anti-Catholic, it’s pointing out it’s deviation from modern thinking. Don’t get your undies in a bunch! You still have lots to fall back on, Guns, Mammon,Plutus…or Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny,Cosmic Muffin, and the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

“Pope John VIII was pope from 13 December 872 to 16 December 882.” — Wikipedia
Legend has it that s/he was REALLY Pope Joan, a(n English) woman who managed to get herself elected Pope.
Pope John’s contemporaries wrote letters calling him/her ‘a woman’ (in Latin, of course). Three hundred years later, a Roman historian developed a more detailed history based on those letters. After the Reformation, a good English Protestant came up with the fully embellished version.
Pope Joan’s bust is in the Vatican with busts of all the other popes, but not her exact dates. They have a list of popes (all men) that completely fill the papacy from Peter (33 AD – 64 AD) up to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, so it’s not clear exactly where Pope Joan goes, except maybe in place of Pope John VIII.

so if you’re for freedom of people to choose birth control, openly be gay, seek medical procedures (that the church elders might be against) and speak out against the church coverup of criminal pedophilia, then you’re anti-catholic, eh?
Call me a PROUD ANTI-CATHOLIC then.

I’m happy to leave the Catholic Church alone so long as they leave other people alone — for example, by letting other people make their own decisions about birth control and abortion. So long as the Church shoves its agenda down our throats, we have a right to criticize the Church.

Well, Men think about “it” all the time (on average every 11 seconds), therefor they are used to it. Woman, on the other hand, are controlled by the phases of the moon…
