Jeff Danziger provides a scathing international take on politics, finance, and everything else you aren’t allowed to discuss at the dinner table. Combining spot-on caricatures with razor-sharp writing, this feature will make you listen a little more closely to what they tell you on the news.

Funny, but inaccurate. The Good Conduct Medal is awarded only to enlisted members of the Armed Forces. Officers, such as General Petraus, would not be eligible.

Now we know why we’ve done so poorly in Iraq and Afghanistan, our generals can’t keep their mind on their work because they’re too busy listening to what the little head tells them to do.

The reason the GCM is not awarded to officers is that officers are beyond doing anything questionable.

Problem we have had in our “wars” lately, is our military leaders listen to our political leaders (most have no clue about fighting a military battle0, and they themselves have become politicians to get promotions. Long absences from loved ones tend to promote finding solice and affection elsewhere. (So what are politicians’ excuse- they can take family wit them?)

Officers are expected to behave with GOOD CONDUCT. There is a specific article in the UCMJ for Conduct unbecoming an Officer. (Kerry should have been tried and convicted of this).

While it is true that the Good Conduct Medal is awarded to enlisted members only, an officer who previously served as an EM and earned the medal is entitled to wear it as an officer. So the cartoon is not exactly “inaccurate.”

I read that he would go to parties in a civilian suit with some of his medals pinned on the suit. Maybe he transferred them to his jammies. People at these parties thought it was very odd.

That his clothes are on a chair is a great image. It says “one night stand”. (That and the Gideon Bible.)
Her being on the telephone is another great image.
A very good cartoon.
