He has suddenly woken up to the fact that unemployment figures have been cooked up for the last forty years.

Actually, the slogan for FAUX Noise should be “We Distort, You Deride”!

@Radish
The “unemployment rate” is a highly technical figure that is only loosely connected with the actual percentage of people who are out of work and desperate. We use it because, being highly technical, it is objective. The fight is (or at least should be) over the real meaning.
I can’t give the link (the article is too old) but in ‘81 the “unemployment rate” was 12%, and a brilliant Republican economist showed that St Ronnie had reduced it to 0% after subtracting those technically unemployed who shouldn’t be counted. He started out with the observation that every reputable economist agreed that full employment was a technical unemployment rate of 6%. Add to that the 6% who are school and military leavers looking for work when there’s plenty of work, and you can easily see that that 12% was really 0%.
He’s dead now, but his equally brilliant Republican successors have clearly shown that now when the technical rate of unemployment is 7.8%, adding in those who should be counted but aren’t (under the fiend Obama), the real rate is at least 20%.

Reminds me of Gerald from this forum, a libertarian with very few morals and ethics. He was in Chicago once decades ago and committed voter fraud so that means everyone else in Chicago since then does it still.

Right but a guy standing up and saying Romney never paid taxes is embraced as the apex of truth, honesty, and gospel by the left.. With zero proof, and a history of dishonesty about his own finances.

Of course the figures are not accurate.
But if you speak up against the regime….
JD & his ilk would like to bring back tar & feathering. But only for conservatives…

Jack tweeted, Fox reported it. Jack explained that he meant to question, not accuse. Fox reported that too. That seems fair. (and balanced)

Funny no one remembers GW’s employment data, it went up on report day and was revised downward three weeks later.
This lasted for the majority of his terms.
Bush/cheney’s employment growth for 8 years was 0.83% growth.
Where was Welch(er) then?
