Mitt’s “little 25% tax cut for the job creators” would throw a lot of people under that bus.

Brilliant cartoon! I don’t understand why ANYBODY with less than $10,000,000 in the (Swiss) bank would vote for Romney. As I’ve mentioned, I think the tea party is a product of crumbling schools, and lax enforcement of incest laws, (mostly in the red states).

Untrue. Here in Texas it is very specific: If she’s a relative, you better do it.

I’ve known several Texans. I’ve found nothing to repudiate your comment.

He threw Obama and that moderator under the bus. For Obama’s sake I hope it was one of his magical green job busses. “oil companies get 2.8 money from um tax this and that” Yeh and you Obama spent 90 on magic green jobs.

There’s a joke about _____ (insert little town near you)… Why didn’t the Gomer marry the virgin? “Well if’n she ain’t good enuff fer her own kinfolk, whado I wanner fer?”

Nice idea, but I don’t think so. I think he was going with “If you can’t convince them with your logic bamboozle them with your b***s***”. When I listened to Mitt I finally understood what “Etch-a-Sketch” means: lie, lie, lie, and even if it only holds for one night, you have nothing to lose, so why not. Given the state of the U.S. populace he might even get away with it. Chris Matthew is shouting at Obama? Well, he should be shouting at Romney! We lefties should have knows what was coming. Bet you $10: next debate Romney will play the demure victim, the downtrodden, losing candidate who can’t string a sentence together. Further bamboozlement. Everything it takes to win, right boys…

BEFORE the debate, the commentary was that Mitt was advised to change his positions, say what he thought people wanted to hear, and shout it loud, even if there were no facts involved. That’s what he did, and I’m sorry Obama didn’t nail him better for it.
But yes, 99% of Americans WILL be under that bus if MItt wins, and Boehner, Cantor, McConnell, and the others gain more control.

Harley is paid by the GOP per posting – they don’t check to see if he makes sense. The result is he is a common blight on threads here but hardly ever decipherable – they get what they pay for.

At first I watched the debates on television with sound on, and then with sound off. After I had figured the body language routines, I listened to the sound alone on a radio. If these two men came out of nowhere and you watched and listened to them, you would certainly think Romney came out ahead. (Was that occasional pitying look he gave at Obama rehearsed? It was a neat touch.) Today I will read a printed transcript.
.
However, anyone following the campaign in depth so far would have heard the same old things from both sides. I don’t think this added anything useful other than to give Romney supporters a morale boost. Good for them, maybe they’ll dig up the gold coins they’ve been burying the last few months.
.
In debates of this type, I think, we anticipate the car wreck moments. Failing those, we instinctively watch the faces and body movements. Certainly the language goes by too fast, and the lists of points can’t be followed and remembered after 90 minutes. The candidates might as well be shown with the sound dubbed in doggy noises (I’m thinking Soupy Sales and White Fang/ Black Tooth.)
.
And you know (I’m ashamed to admit it) I kind of enjoyed watching Jim Lehrer lose control of the situation. All his carefully explained rules went to hell. I’m rather tired of his endowed saintliness and that of the entire PBS News Hour staff. Let’s get a few crotchety old-timers in there that don’t give a hoot. I’d volunteer, and I’m sure a few of you would, too. Give us two good loud shock buzzers and we’d be ready to go!

Jeff, you got it wrong. It took me 8 calls to find a doctor who would take medicare and now he tells me that if O is elected,
he will only take a the ones he has now and accept no more. So who is throwing us seniors under the bus? Not Romney!
