The statement on “the female body” being able to shut things down was the creepiest ignorance I’ve EVER heard from a member of Congress. Pat Robertson? Maybe, but an elected representative???

And what does that have to do with rape?

Let’s let Governor Ultrasound decide that!

I think Ahab was simply replying to “the female body being able to shut things down” part of dtroutma’s post. I did not read in Ahab’s reply that it was relative to rape.

Rather interesting this case but it won’t reflect favourably on your electorate if this bloke manages to get himself elected.
Apparently there have been precedents, elected & wannabe politicians: Henry Aldridge, Stephen Freind, Clayton Williams…

What doe that even mean? a woman’s body has a way of shutting WHAT down?? a baby? Those little buggers don’t just curl up and die if they are from rape or incest! What shuts down? You mean a woman can keep herself from getting pregnant? If that worked we would have a LOT Fewer people. .A womans “lady parts” shutdown?? What does that mean??

Why wait? It’s been said before.

…ovaries are actually sentient, intelligent and quite capable of defending themselves from marauding evil sperm. To suggest otherwise is to denigrate women. :-|

This man is a member of the House Science Committee. Does that explain anything?

If there is such as thing as “legitimate rape”, then what is “illegitimate rape”? I think there’s a suggestion that women make this up all the time, so it isn’t really rape, or maybe that they bring it on themselves. Does anyone have a better interpretation?

Then please explain the symbiotic relationship between Passeriformes and Fragaria × ananassa.

Michele Bachman is on the Intelligence Committee, so Akin can obviously be on the Science Committee. When I was raped at nine I didn’t even know what my vagina was for. This man has a wife and 2 daughters who love him? HOW?

Roughly half of all embryo (fertilized eggs) do NOT attach to the uterus and pass through the body. It doesn’t matter whether from rape, or consensual sex. Is this God committing a felony under the “personhood” amendment sought by Akins, AND RYAN??

Coyotes, among other species, will reabsorb the fetus of their young in “tough times”. Akins has demonstrated a little “canid intellect” on this issue, and Ryan is going to also be a dog of a candidate, so maybe Mitt should just start carting him around on top of the campaign bus??

Thank you for explaining the fancy science word for Todd Akin. Unfortunately now he thinks we must be talking about witches.

It means that Todd Akin studied sex education in the same class with Rush Limbaugh.

Are you surprised? Look we ALL know the Tea-Party repubs want to turn America into a feudal society, and this fits in with that perfectly

You see, during the middle ages, conventional wisdom said that the more a woman enjoyed the act of sex, the more likely she was to conceive.

Therefore, if you got pregnant, you MUST have enjoyed it, and it WASN’T rape.
