None of those bankers would be caught dead in an American car. Bail out money only buys German cars.

Heh. Might want to check the recent listings of overall quality in new cars - last i heard, BMW was behind at least one USA brand and a couple of Japanese.

Yeah, I’ve seen Wall Street panned on the news enough to know you don’t see many Caddies.

All expensive foreign imports, other than the usual mess of taxicabs and limos (and the limos are mostly stretched Lincolns).

I’ve heard of welfare queens, but I never actually seen one, cadillac and all. Maybe she was just… invented?

ANandy is right. This worn-out liberal scheme of attaching conditions and accountability to our bail-out money is revolting. At least Bush and the Republican congress had the decency to trust us to do the right thing when they passed that $700 billion our way. Never ONCE asked for any time-wasting or money sucking bookkeeping.

ANandy, guess what, your wellfare queen was one of Saint Regean’s lip flappers. Now if you can unscrew the cap on that pointed little head of yours try and figgure weather it was the banker or the queen who’s done the most damage to the USA.

“I don’t remember”- Ronald Reagan over 100 times during the Iran-Contra trial.

“Um, well, uh, well ya know…” Anytime “W” speaks.

“I had better things to do with my time.” Dick Cheney on serving his country.

You would think after 10 years that this “I invented the Internet” thing would be a dead issue…

“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country’s economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.”

Al Gore, March 9, 1999 to Wolf Blitzer

  15. longtimecomicsfan

    longtimecomicsfan said, 25 days ago

And yet, none of those quotes can hold a candle to:

“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”

and you know, he never did. Of course, another all-time great is:

“Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.”

Seriously, to have books and calendars published, along with a whole new term being coined (Bushisms) just makes those other guys an afterthought when it comes to saying stupid stuff.

Howie, don’t you pay attention? Scott Carlin just proved the lie about that so-called quote by Gore. It was turned into “I invented the internet” by someone who didn’t know how to listen.

And lego, the selective use of quotes proves absolutely nothing. You’d think you would have learned that by all the scripture quotes being tossed around this site like a food fight. You throw out FDR’s “fear” quote, but I bet 90-100% of all right-wingers hate him at least as much as they hate Obama. So the whole quote game you gave us is just plain dishonest.

Oldlegodad, you’re stirring things up with a stick again, as my wife would say. You know perfectly well that both parties have their share of gaffes - Bush has books full - and Scott Carlin already posted the link disproving the Gore remark, which has been debunked for years and years now.
And cdward is right; FDR was “a traitor to his class,” and thoroughly alienated all the Republicans of his day, let alone today’s – some of whom want to claim he botched fixing the Depression (not true, according to economists) and even got us into WWII unnecessarily. Remember FDR’s famous relatives were staunch Republicans!
