oh sure, let’s have all our young women aspire to be like Carrie, fake boobs paid by others and posing for nude pix at 17 years of age. Oh yeah, some great role model.

Geeze, why don’t these frigging pageants prohibit those with silicone implants?

“Because the whole idea of a pageant is to pick the best looking specimen. If you’re going to exclude rubber boobs then why not lipstick? Why not hair extensions? Why even have an evening gown event?”

Why even have a pageant? A looks-contest is as shallow as one can get outside a mainstream Republican (that is “neocon”) morality pool.

Personally, if you were going to have a looks-contest, it should be natural beauty…like baseball without steroids.

But then again, I’m not in charge of these kinds of things so….

I think the whole concept of beauty pageants is outdated. Does anybody even know or care who is Miss America?

Don’t get it on this issue - it’s her opinion and she’s entitled to it.

If she had said she favors gay marriage, she would be a hero in the press. This is another example of the far left hate machine. Instead, everyone should be ridiculing the guy who asked the question about gay marriage. I know I’m showing my age, but there was a time in this country when a person could express an honest opinion and not be punished for it.

“If she had said she favors gay marriage, she would be a hero in the press.”

Of course. She would be saying that she favors equal rights for all. That’s what a true American does.

“I know I’m showing my age, but there was a time in this country when a person could express an honest opinion and not be punished for it.”

What if she had answered that blacks shouldn’t have rights? After all, if it was only her opinion….

Actually, I think that question was inappropriate, too.

    Just like all beauty contests.

Dred’s take is accurate here on events and responses, gbw. Hilton IS a twit and Prejean is an opportunist. Just my honest opinion.

Like the 50’s and 60’s when Caucasians were harassed or even beaten for expressing opinions about equal rights for their black brethren. Yeah… These were the “good ol’ days.”

How is she radical right when her response to Hilton was the same view as Pres Obama?

Who called her radical right again?

Personally, I wish beauty pageants would go bye-bye. Personally, I think it was ridiculous to name Perez Hilton as a judge. Personally, I think Miss California’s actions SINCE the pageant are appalling. Personally, I don’t see much wrong with her answer which was expressed as a personal belief other than the fact that she wasn’t all that articulate. Not as linguistically challenged as fomer beauty-pageant-winner Palin though

Yeah, like the McCarthy years, during the 1950’s, right?

Anyway, it just gets better and better now that the racy lingerie photos of Ms. Prejean are surfacing. Gay marriage is a morality issue, but semi-nude, lingerie clad, soft-porn, hoochie photos are apparently not.

ltcf, Don’t justify bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior. As others have said, why should she be punished for agreeing with Obama, Biden and over 50% of the country? You libs are so big on “tolerance” as long as you agree with what is being said. Point out where she is wrong, but don’t use “hate speech” or try to ruin her life.

So, don’t be a Republican talk radio commentator. Got it.

Who has said that she was “wrong”?

You feminazis are just mad because, like Betty Friedan, you demand to be respected for you mind and personality rather than your charm (fake boobs, smile, blonde hair, etc…). I married a trophy wife, thank Jove!
