Jane's World is best described as a smart ensemble comedy, blending the classic comic strip style of Lynn Johnston with the racier writing style of shows like Sex and the City and Friends. Jane is the lesbian heir to the hard-luck Charlie Brown, somehow always winding up as the punch line in her own comic.

Otis took his elevator up to the sky.
Didn’t he say " ’scuse me while I kiss the sky?"
Oh wait, that was Hendrix.

It’s all groovy for Otis. However these two should worry about finding their way back to the present.

String theory is simple… Knot.

Jane should read The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, which includes the following:
“There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. …
There is another theory which states that this has already happened"
I think Jane could relate.

We do seem to have a paradox don’t we? Where is Otis’ ghost of that time?

@Vic
Those sound like hypotheses not theories or they would be proven. No proofs, no theories. There is also a hypothesis that we are living in some kind of incredible artificial program. But it isn’t easy to find out.
-—Simulated reality is the skeptical hypothesis that reality could be simulated—perhaps by computer simulation—to a degree indistinguishable from “true” reality. It could contain conscious minds which may or may not be fully aware that they are living inside a simulation.
This is quite different from the current, technologically achievable concept of virtual reality. Virtual reality is easily distinguished from the experience of actuality; participants are never in doubt about the nature of what they experience. Simulated reality, by contrast, would be hard or impossible to separate from “true” reality.
There has been much debate over this topic, ranging from philosophical discourse to practical applications in computing.

Ghosts are ghosts. Once their purpose has been fulfilled, thay have no need to stick around. Otis has now died as he wanted to and has moved on. No residue, no energy. Now our heroines will wake up in the VW with a long line of customers outside. Or not.
