NRA – No Reasonable Answer
motivemagus said, 5 months ago
Fact: the US has 9.2 firearm deaths per 100,000 people a year. The UK has 0.25.
Fact: the countries higher than the US include South Africa, Mexico, Panama, Brazil, El Salvador.
Fact: The next highest score by a European nation is Switzerland, with 3.5 — or almost a third of ours.
And Wikipedia has its own page for US school shootings:

Lets follow the constitution to the letter and only allow guns to members of well regulated militias.
Darren Blair said, 5 months ago
@Radish
And who do you think used to make up the militias?
[]
Armed citizens.

Explain what the NRA had to do with Sandy Hook.
ARodney said, 5 months ago
Wow, that’s trivial. The NRA kept the assault weapons ban from being renewed, by threatening congress. Without the assault weapons ban, the murder weapon could be purchased. The NRA has much, much innocent blood on its hands, both in the US and Mexico.

But those who want a new law when 41 didn’t stop this are reasonable? OK.
dannysixpack said, 5 months ago
^ok, you want reasonable. let’s go with original intent. citizens have the right to keep and bear muskets. NEXT!
the 41 laws (that’s inflamatory) are ineffective, get rid of them and replace it with one national law. A list of illegal firearms and bullets.

Militia suggests some kind of an organization where the people know each other and presumeably would not give a crazy person a gun.

-——————————Sorry, Radish….
.
Most often I agree with your posts – but you are on thin ice here.
.
From what source do you ascertain this suggestion?
.
I find it highly unlikely that among the 13 colonies every “militiaman” knew all the others.

Following the 2nd Amendment to the letter allows us to Keep and Bear Arms as it also states the rights of Citizens to Keep and Bear Arms shall not be Infringed.. Look up the definition of Infringed
motivemagus said, 5 months ago
@Donald Williams
Actually, probably most of them did. Militiamen came from a relatively small group of people, and formed geographically, so a militia was made up of your neighbors. Since a gun was not a cheap proposition, it also meant that it was generally someone with at least some resources, and therefore were more likely to be known in the community.

-————————————The statement that was posted by Radish was a bit more all-encompassing than that which you explain.
.
What you’re saying is similar to a comparison with the NEA (National Education Association) leadership, where I knew all those from Little Rock, the majority of them from Arkansas, but very few from the rest of the U.S.
.
One must take care when making generalized statements.
