Well, maybe if a certain idiot hadn’t been distracted by getting us into a war with Iraq…

We were already in a war.
We are still in the same war.
    Same enemy.
    It is World War 3.
    The enemy knows this.
Whether & how we we should have fought that particular battlefront in Iraq is debatable, but let’s call it what it is: One battlefront. Afghanistan is another.
    They are not separate wars.
    There is 1 war.

What makes it hard for us to understand this is similar to the phenomenon where generals “fight the last war” ( i.e., use outdated tactics): For the past several centuries in Western Civilization, wars have been waged between nation-states. This is not that. We have also separated church from state in the west. The enemy crosses national boundaries and not everyone within a nation is the enemy. We remain confused.
Until we identify the enemy, we cannot possibly win.

It’s getting harder and harder to tell whether this strip sucks balls bigger as a failed attempt at golf humor, or a failed attempt at flogging a political agenda.

Personally, I find this strip refreshing compared to all the blatant liberal strips that disguise themselves in the ‘comics’ section as humor. You know, BTO, you really don’t have to read this strip if you don’t want to.
