"In the Sticks" is silly, absurd, smart and LOL funny. It's an affable strip about an ex-golf professional who's inherited a nearly bankrupt golf club populated by three very odd animals who (usually) try to help him make it work.

I don’t get the revised punchline, but the original one was good!
Re “Looks sorta like Dewey”: before I read the “Furbee” reference, I thought it WAS a little toy Dewey! (In the black and white version.) That would be cute, for Dewey to have a little toy Dewey to play with! (Hey, I want one too!!) :o)

The last panel ‘Members Only’ is a reference to a Boomer generation. The jacket had those straps on the shoulders.
