"In the Sticks" is silly, absurd, smart and LOL funny. It's an affable strip about an ex-golf professional who's inherited a nearly bankrupt golf club populated by three very odd animals who (usually) try to help him make it work.

Pearl, I have no problem reading them. You can click on it to make it bigger.

I would be cautious about this turning into “Get Fuzzy on the Golf Course”.

I am over “Get Fuzzy.”
It’s a shell of its former self. Bucky is over-the-top mean and Rob abd Satchel are clueless. The characters have lost any redeeming quality.
Plus, Connelly seems to be on vacation every other week.
What I like about this so far is that the characters seem to be a bit more fun-loving than cruel for the sake of being cruel.

I come from the future and I think this is pretty cool to see the process.

Me too on the Get Fuzzy bashing. It blows harder than Louis Armstrong.

This strip (hopefully) establishes that the animals think they’re in charge of the golf course because they lived there before Del bought the place. Del has yet to understand that.

Really? I wasn’t getting that. Would they display useful skills without complaint if they thought they were in charge? Forgive me, I have to be critique happy at work and it’s hard to stop. I think this is a charming and fun strip so far and obviously feel this whole “watch it develop” thing is a lot of fun.

@Stephen Beals
There’s a strip coming up next week that sort of answers your question.
I’ll just say their compliance with Del involves their love of vending machine snacks.
