"In the Sticks" is silly, absurd, smart and LOL funny. It's an affable strip about an ex-golf professional who's inherited a nearly bankrupt golf club populated by three very odd animals who (usually) try to help him make it work.

I think I liked the original comment for panel 3… I do see the point of the final edit, but for some reason I think the wording in the draft just seemed to flow better.
Of course, that said, and being the comic genius that I ain’t, I can’t suggest a brilliant melding of the two, lol ;o)
Do have to agree with TJ from yesterday - it’s better when the draft and the final are both on the same page.

Is the facial expression the same in the last panel? Looks close … but not exact?

If we are going to see this develop, originals and all, I would prefer to see them together.

Yeah, but they don’t get double the clicks if they run them one at a time.

I’ve been following along and I really appreciate getting to see the development of this strip. I’m chiming in now, because I think this is the point where it really starts to work for me. I think the focus on Del is where it should stay. Cute animals on the golf course is nice, but this draws me in more. If Del is really that naive about the singing fish, it would be great to see that play off of the wealthy celebrities.

I’d have to agree that I liked the original punchline in panel 3 better.

I’m with OpenWings and Khard12 on the “original” punchline.
I’m also looking forward to the introduction of the beaver character (seen in the banner). I can just imagine all the “woods” and “dams” jokes you will have to play with. Or has the beaver turned into the bear/Hot Pocket with hair? ;)

It looks like a Hot Pocket with hair.
STILL laughing over this one!!! hahahahahahahhahh
I don’t know why, but that description just keeps on ticklin’ a bone I didn’t even know I had, lol
ralibrown you rock! cheers :o))

I vote for the original punch line too.
(Comics as democracy?? Interesting concept…) :o)
