    Colleges should just bite the bullet and allow their sports teams to become professional minor league clubs sponsored by the pros. If a profit is made it should be spent on education, not insane coaching salaries – too many universities have lost their way and have forgotten their central purpose.

    Perhaps… but maintaining amateurism is still a good idea… and coaches, frankly, are powerful links to alumni donations – which continue to rise….. but this conversation is way too serious for this strip…. just remember to leave your glasses at the door.
