    @Werner7
    Just like the old ones I read as a kid! Thanks for the nostalgia, Werner.

    It is interesting that somehow, our 4-people family who has trash taken only twice a month has far emptier trash cans than our neighbours, a couple who has trash taken once a week. Although, just this week it is not the case, as we cleaned up a graveful of flowers, and also bought lots of stuff for house… I remember that after moving here, we had lots of packaging to discard, too.

    Don’t you usually have MORE garbage when you move in than on a normal day? Or at least a pile of boxes out for recycling? At least I do.

    So maybe that house has only one occupant? Or the family was on vacation until yesterday? When we started recycling and composting, we didn’t get a full trash can after a month.

    Maybe it’s a large birdhouse, minus an outdoor perch.

    I do ONE small bag per week – (1/2 cubic foot) .Compostables go to the compost pile, recyclables go to the various holding/ redistribution containers and “trash” to the trash. Virtually EVERYTHING can be used more than ONCE in one form or another.
