The level of mindless stupidity seems to have scaled new heights today. And Danger wouldn’t have checked the clinic, would he?

For the record, I did get the solution, but the only other was that the psychic killed the woman herself as some kind of publicity stunt.

Waiting for next Monday’s blithering idiocy.

That was His house?? It looked more like the clinic!
Then He would have had to smoke outdoors! I have
seen people smoke outdoors from a hospital or clinic
even when it is below zero & snowing heavily!!
I too think it was the psychic looking for publicity!!!

What we really can conclude from this strip is that the author is a jerk who starts filling houses with his tobacco stink as soon as he is alone in them.

Ah, Inspector Danger. Figuring out how you messed up is more fun than trying to solve your little riddles. I wonder if you are popular with defense lawyers, since they can usually break apart the whole thing with one sentence… Maybe it’s their game, to see who can do it best with the fewest words.
“Defendant habitually smokes inside when wife is away.”

There are a lot of smokers who choose not to smoke in the house, besides if the guy knew his wife was away for two days, he would still smoke outside for fear of her wrath when she returns.

Being outside indicated to me that she was still alive and the mystic was planning on killing the wife, for whatever unknown reason, and setting up the frame. The only way the murder, where ever took place would be to provide some motive, or show that the wife never made a reservation at the clinic, or was actually headed to the clinic.

Like Colombo, there are always so many holes in the final solution, I wish these and those cases were real and I was a defense attorney – I would almost never lose a case. :)

    No, it does make sense…
The first time we see the husband smoking outside, the next day he’s smoking inside, but his wife was supposed to be gone for two days already. If he smoked inside when his wife was away, he’d have been inside on both occasions.
Its a subtle slip warranting further investigation.

I am a defense lawyer and I absolutely love the absurdity in this strip. “Ladies and gentlement of the jury, the State’s only evidence is that the Defendant chose to smoke outdoors, a behavior easily explained by the fact that it was a habit he had developed to keep his wife happy and their marriage peaceful, since he absolutely adored his wife and would have done anything to keep her happy.”

    Also, no motive was given.

The motive is that she wouldn’t let him smoke indoors and his rage finally blew up. However, the psychic appears to have been wrong; the murder didn’t take place across the street. That’s where it was conceived.

Inspector Danger is an idiot. It wasn’t the cigar. Her husband said he tried to e-mail her. But he knew there were no phones at the rehab center. Without a phone line, there could be no internet connection. They would have had no satellite connection because it would have been too slow.

Cell phones don’t need phone lines and there’s always WiFi. Why would a guy smoke a cigar on the balcony if his wife wasn’t home and wouldn’t be home for a few days?
