Or the murderer used the automatic but “policed” the crime scened: i.e. picked up the spent casings. Does the author of this stupid thing not watch NCIS?
Personally I think it was number two. When cleaning a gun, the clip is removed and the chamber emptied.

They could match the bullets to one of the three guns. It is called ballistics.

Apparently, many gun owners are killed because they forget about the round in the chamber.

Don’t involve logic in this cartoon :p. Would be the same as checking for prints at the crime scene, or gun powder residue on their hands and clothes. Actual police work instead of random gut feelings.

How about the first AND second did it together, each shooting once?

They never said how MANY shots were fired from the 1st suspect’s gun….. and he’s sweating from taking a fat-eating pill that he got from the prescription he stole!

And a safety is a mechnical device. In general mech devics do fail or not work.

This solution doesn’t work. It is fairly common for a criminal to pick up shell casings at a crime scene.

I was thinking #1 was sweating because he was using fat burning pill but I also thought it was going to be because of the type of gun when the third guy didn’t have a gun. But I agree that they would probably attempt to pick up shells if they had the time.

A semi auto handgun that fires .38 (special) is very rare and expensive – the physical characteristics of the cartridge make this mainly for revolvers. a .38 is not the same as a .380, many bullets are very close to the same diameter and do interchange if you hand load, but the cartridges are very different.

Neither of the handguns pictured were automatic, but semi-auto. That means that you have to pull the trigger for each shot. Details, folks.

This cartoon has holes in it that you could drive a truck through. Kids are supposed to be able to solve it, and there’s no way that #3 could be right, given that. He has no gun, says he hates guns. First, you have to prove he lied.

Semi-automatics discard the casings as the shots are fired, if it had been me and I were thinking, I would pick up the two casings. They would have marks that could be matched to my gun, why make the inspector’s job easy?

well I think the murderer is the third guy, and he put his gun in the beaker of hydrochloric acid, which dissolved it!
