    I expected the answer to be #3 since they didn’t have a dish and must have something to hide…and was ready to be annoyed since I don’t have a dish (or cable)

    But, now that I see the answer, and since I don’t have a dish, I have to ask…Doesn’t the direction you point your dish have to do with who you have as a provider?

    Or it could be the dish that isn’t branded DirectTV or Dish Network. This strip sucks more with every new entry.

    Most of our satellites for DirecTV and Dish Network are in geosynchronous orbit over Texas, to allow the greatest field of national coverage. Therefore, you need to mount it facing south in most of the country.

    Huh! I thought it was the house with the satellite sticking out of the chimney.

    Hmm, I was thinking the wide eyes staring out the tiny window in the attic of the house with two chimneys might be a clue. Oh well, I guess the owner is just a possible pedophile, not a spy. Moving on……..

    What about the house with the stack of firewood? Smoke pouring out of the chimney would do no good to the satellite dish. Maybe the dish is a decoy…

    Me too. And I had to laugh at the “suburby” adjective. … And geostationary satellites have to be over the earth’s equator, not Texas. Those for USA use would be over the equatorial ocean south of the USA.

    MommaBee. By not having cable or a dish you’re not missing a thing. The last good TV shows went off the air in the early 80s. You can still watch the classics – Matlock, Adam 12, Simon & Simon, The Rockford Files, etc. on the internet sites like HULU, along with the news stations.

    The satalite was just what gave him a hunch while driving through. As much as I like making fun of this comic, i really don’t see anything wrong with this one.

    well.. as long as i ingore the fact that there’s no way we could tell that all these houses were on the same side of the street. for all I know, frame 4 was on the oposite side of the street, making the satalite point in the correct direction.

    No, it’s not. It’s the remaining part of the last house in panel 3. The colors match.

    I’d have said that in a row where everyone has a dish, the one not having one would be a natural suspect. “High tech gizmos” should be less easily detectable than a satellite dish, shouldn’t they?

    @MommaBee170

    Yeah, the direction you point the dish is related to who you have as a provider because you have to point at THEIR satelite.
    .
    Also, no one that’s after spies using high tech gadgets is going to be looking for them by driving through neighborhoods like this. They’re going to be using high tech gadgets of their own.
    .
    The people that write this strip continue to be totally clueless about how things really work in the real world.
