Is the mad scientist Negato, perchance?

@KaminoNeko
Was that meant to be a joke?
Isn’t it obvious by the shape of the nose and goatee?
Is this your first time viewing this strip?

It is a little difficult to read without the magnifying glass (I am spoiled by that!). Plus this is a return to the beginning, so some folks may not have had a chance to read the series. Besides, the ‘scientist’ is wearing glasses: that is always helpful in concealing a cartoon character’s identity.
A simple ‘yes’ would have sufficed.

Yeah, stop being a p%^$k.

Yeah, Leatherface, lighten up.
I for one had not noticed the resemblance. Those glasses are a genius disguise.
Thanks emjaycee.
Many daring questions are now answered and I can sleep once again.

Not to mention the cigarette. In a later episode, Ralston asks the Captain (while he is smoking) if he ever used his x-ray vision to check his own lungs. Captain V did, and IIRC implied Ralston was such a downer. One of my favorite strips.
The zero on the shirt is a nice touch.
