   The viking is too smart to use the rowing machine because he realizes they are really going nowhere. He is merely encouraging those who also are going nowhere to give up going nowhere sooner than later.

   No No No - I errored in my read of this comic. He is making sure that these guys, who are golfers, remember to count all their strokes next time. The rowing is just a warning of how hard it is to row on dry land, which is the first punishment for shaving strokes.

   After going to the gym yesterday, the viking went golfing with these two guys. They cheated, he was mad, so was taking out his anger in a positive way. I think he has a snake in his left hand too…. or it might be a two-iron that didn’t get the results he desired.
