Seinfeld once said that the silver medal has to be the heartbreak of the Olympics: “You win the gold, you feel great; you win the bronze, you feel at least you got something; you win the silver, ’Congratulations, you…almost won. Of all the losers, you came in first of that group.”

I once saw a kid school a reporter over the silver medal she won in an Olympic gymnastic competition. “How great was it,” he asked, “to be up on that podium hearing them play the anthem?” “Well,” she replied, “they only play the anthem of the ones who win the gold medal.” FAIL!
