Drunk guy: “Life was SO much better when you could throw beer cans at pedestrians and not have to worry about jail time for it. Man, technology sucks.”

What’s he going to do when he comes across someone wearing Google Glass?

If you think about it, everybody who has a cell phone probably has a camera. Thus any stupid or hateful thing you do can be preserved and sent out on the web. I wonder if the possibility of having one’s antics publicized will lead people to restrain their worst behavior.

While I understand being annoyed when bicyclists are in the car lane, Hubris was in the bike lane. Why would you even think twice about a bike or unicycle when they are in their own lane? Some people are just illogical jerks, or comic strip characters.

There’s a guy down the street from me who is apoplectic about the new bike lanes taking ‘His’ parking spot. At a public meeting, he raised his hand and said aloud that he was sure that people had the right to use public space adjacent to their property for parking, and bikes didn’t have any rights like that. I’ve known two people whose bikes were forced off the road in the area, and I wouldn’t put it past my neighbor to have been driving the truck that did it.

As a cop once said, “It’s a fine how-do-ye-do when you cain’t even pistol whip a suspect any more!”

Bike lanes were added to many of the roads around our village over the past few years. In general this town is bike friendly anyway but the lanes certainly are pleasant for both cyclists and motorists.
Except now joggers and runners have decided the lanes were installed for their benefit even to the point of refusing to yield to bikes, forcing them into traffic lanes to avoid the runners who refuse to use the designated pedestrian paths, of which there are many.
It seems there is always another ’special interest" intent of ruining a good thing for their own self-centered benefit.

And people record activities instead of living in the moment. People are idiots.

It seems to me that the possibility of having one’s antics publicized has led people to increase their stupid behavior.

we got convictions. with jail time. would have been nice if it also included garnishee of wages. … but guess we couldn’t get everything.
    .
selfies, video surveillance cameras, phone cameras, Facebook – and 10’s of thousands of videos and photos – we (as in my home town) are still lining them up and convicting.
    .
you video yourself breaking and entering and stealing. Of setting fires. Or deciding to pick a fight with a cop in riot gear….. you not only dumb. You deserve to be caught, charged, convicted and jailed.

Its not so much the bike lanes – its the cyclists. the deliberate disregard of the Motor Vehicle Act. Of which cyclists are included. The running the red lights and ignoring Stop signs. Of deliberately trying to run over pedestrians who are clearly in the crosswalk.
    .
I go now. I in rant mode. Must go read something funny.
