Lowell: “In school, all the cool kids called me ‘helmet head’. It hurt me so.”

Lowell’s silhouette was originally chosen (waaaay back when. You’ll have to look it up if you’re fascinated) to look like Darth Vader. I even had him wearing glasses so that I could leave the lenses white in the silhouette. That was how I chose to telegraph to everyone that Lowell was going to be the Bad Guy. So there’s your glimpse into the way I try to manipulate the visual language and emotional charge of the comic strip. Today’s strip just continues the sight gag.

Ah yes … I remember this.

The force is weak with this one . . . Vader was cold, cruel, calculating, and powerful, not to mention scary. Lowell is none of those things and is scary only because he has half a brain and is dangerous. But that’s what makes it so funny.

Taken from the “Empire Strikes Back” scene where Vader is talking to the Emperor long distance while searching for Han Solo etc.

I’ve thought about it. There might be a way, but a lot of people won’t like it.

You do as you see fit. Quality is better than quantity.

If you are implying that you would have to give up the Buckets…
    .

Not that I have a crush on Hubris or anything…

Hmmm if it has to do with Buckets … don’t bother… although … maybe each being 5 days, with no weekend strips could be acceptable to most …
