Seems like a lawyer came up with that one. I remember when my mom was in a nursing home, and asked for me to clean out her ears for her. (She’d had a stroke, so didn’t have the dexterity to do it herself.) The nurse said that silly thing about not putting anything smaller than an elbow in an ear. My mom was in her 80’s at the time, had fantastic hearing, and we always used swabs to clean the excessive wax out of our ears. So, I just waited until we were alone to clean out her ears with the swabs. Of course, you’ve got to be careful to not stick it in too far, but just because some people are stupid, doesn’t mean it should be banned.
