It makes you appreciate answering machines and voice mail and loving spouses.

Bell’s law states that “When a body is partially or wholly immersed in water, the phone will ring.”.

So why did he have to come out of the shower to answer the phone that was right next to her? I wouldn’t get out of the shower to answer the phone if no one was home to answer it. Who cares? It’s probably a dang telephone solicitor, anyway.

I don’t get out of the shower until I’m good and ready – unless the house is on fire. If the phone call’s important enough, they’ll call back later.

He is still the slave of the phone, not having learned the lessons pointed out in the several earlier posts. One has to
wonder if he ever will. The Mrs seems to have it down pat.

Its obvious. No children at home to answer the phone.

I also agree with most of you too…I will not run for the phone…I figure if it is important, they will call back and if it is a stupid Ad. , they will also call back, sorry to say…I love that they made phones have answer machs…It had to be invented by someone who ran out of the shower to find out it was someone wanted them to buy something…

This comic was run more than thirty years ago. Not just the idea, either, but the actual artwork. I have it in one of my Herman books from my youth. Mr. Unger must be on vacation.

My philosophy has been that if you wait long enough, the phone will eventually stop ringing all by itself.

I used to work with a woman whose husband would NOT answer the phone. Period. End of discussion. She went to the store and got locked out of her car. Called home and he didn’t answer, in spite of knowing she wasn’t in the house. She finally had to call one of her kids to go to the house and get her spare keys so she could get home. Apparently son gave dad a talking to, but his answer was “answering the phone is a woman’s job.”
