    I don’t get it. When did Adam lie? The only statement he made in the garden that I’m aware of was when he immediately confessed to having eaten the forbidden fruit (though not without first implicating Eve to try to deflect some of the blame).

    Could we please stop taking ancient myths literally? Population genetics shows that the human population could never have been less than about 12 to 15 thousand individuals (at the population bottleneck at the end of the last ice age).
