Not under “Obamacare.” Under that law (which I don’t think goes far enough), an insurance company can’t drop someone for a pre-existing condition nor for going over a certain limit.
What I can’t understand is that anyone can oppose such a greatly-needed reform.

If they were covered long before the condition, it wouldn’t be pre-existing. The company I worked for would cover a pre-existing condition a year after coverage started, or if the person acquired the condition while covered by a different company, we would cover it immediately as long as there wasn’t a lapse during the change over.
