Exactly. What were all those signatures but an early form of selfie? Today, isn’t any important signing ceremony officially photographed? And maybe that was partly the reason for cave paintings, especially the outlines of hands. The list goes on. And about animals marking their territories …

Speaking of Selfies - How ’bout if a professional fella - a lawyer or a doctor, say, — CAN’T or WON’T be bothered to get certified by the overseers of his profession? Suppose he just goes ahead and certifies himself.
“According to a story in the Louisville Courier-Journal, the Kentucky Republican Rand Paul bills himself as a “board-certified” physician even though he is not actually certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology — the only recognized body that certifies doctors in his specialty.”

The signers of the Declaration of Independence were the most SELF-LESS men in history.
They knew they were risking their lives and their families’ lives and their property, and if you check the record, most of those signers paid dearly to create a Freedom government for the rest of us!
And, btw, what have you posters done to ensure that our children will be able to keep our original Freedoms??
There are many enemies in this world that would if they could, end our form of government. (Russia, Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood Jihadists, China, North Korea, and the rising collectivists in Central and South America.)
Why is congress and Obama cutting and diminishing our armed forces?
? Putin is proof that for the USA and Israel, we must have Peace Through Strength or fail to survive.

I think the situation is a little more complicated than “is he” or “isn’t he” certified. He seems to have certified himself. Almost all ophthalmologists are certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and he used to be certified by this board, but now he’s certified by the National Board of Ophthalmology, which he founded. Here’s some passages from a Fox story:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Rand Paul, who touts his career as a Kentucky eye doctor as part of his outsider credentials in his campaign for U.S. Senate, isn’t certified by his profession’s leading group.
The libertarian-leaning Republican helped create a rival certification group more than a decade ago. He said the group has since recertified several hundred ophthalmologists, despite not being recognized the American Board of Medical Specialties — the governing group for two dozen medical specialty boards.
Paul has been certified through the National Board of Ophthalmology since 2005. He is listed as the group’s president; his wife, Kelley, is listed as vice president; and his father-in-law is listed as secretary.
