Ya, but while you and your kids are unemployed, living in poverty and dodging bullets, you can sleep well knowing that your great great great great great great great grandkids(if alive) will not have slightly warmer temps.

Its short term needs vs long term needs.
You can’t ignore either of them.

Maybe if Detroit had made smaller, more efficient cars sooner, we’d have a better environment and a more economically viable Detroit. Destroying the atmosphere isn’t the only way Big Dumb Business harms us all.

Maybe if they would wake up and reduce the power of the Unions and vote in a few Republicans it would be different, every mayor since 62 is a Democrat, the City Council is Democrat not one Republican since 94.

    @TJDestry

In 1920, Ford ‘knew’ consumers wanted cheaper cars, so he cut every corner to reduce price. But elasticity changed, and by ‘29, the idiot consumers were willing to pay a little extra for style, and GM grew to dwarf Ford that kept cutting costs far too long.

Then GM ’knew’ style was all that mattered, so Caddys had Chevy internal parts where no one could see them, but idiot consumers wanted reliable, and switched to Japanese.

Last I heard, the SUV was still selling to anyone who can borrow enough to buy one. After all, when you lose your job, would you rather sleep in an SUV or in a sub-compact?

But Obama promised that the magic green job would save Detroit! But hey Obama manged to save car Unions at the low low low cost of 10 billion, for the privilege of watching it fall back on it’s face.

Not that Kerry knows any more about physics or meteorology than he does ballistics or other CSI, but as one of the high priests of the cult of Obama his delusional rantings are parroted by libtrolls here and everywhere as proven fact.

“Maybe if they would wake up and reduce the power of the Unions…”

There is an interesting article in TIME magazine this week about the UAW vote at the VW plant in Chattanooga. Surprise: VW wanted the union in place, and is considering the choice not to build another plant in the US (or at least in the southern part) as a result.

Everything, even unions, have value. Everything can be abused. Nothing is absolutely good or absolutely bad, and sometimes the exceptions, as in this case, might surprise you.

First no surprise. VW helped the Union and they still lost, what does that tell you.

Republican fear tactics and misinformation are bad, but work.

Detroit is what you get with a democrat drug culture in charge.
They are shooting each other over drugs or money to buy drugs.
    The tax payers left.
Now they are flat broke with no hope of ever regaining a tax base.
    Break up is almost certain.
