    What happened to Hillary’s “War on Women” and that unbreakable “glass ceiling”?

    Women make up 51% of the population. Until they represent at least 51% of all CEOs, they are clearly being repressed, oppressed, and generally discriminated against, and the government should put in a quota system, where at least 51% of all CEO positions MUST go to women.

    Also, businesses with a female CEO are much more profitable unless she’s undermined by jealous males.

    (NB: Definition: undermined by jealous males — any company led by a female CEO with lower than average profits.)

    What happens to women when they don’t want to be business people, believe it or not some do want to raise the kids.

    If they choose not to lead is that repression.

    Is she going to have GM make better cars than they make now?
    If so I might buy one. Otherwise I’ll stay with Japanese cars.

    So, using your logic, everything should be done on ratios. That means that 51% of all janitors should be women and 51% of our military should be women. There should never be any consideration of experience or qualifications. Yeah, that is the way to run a business…….into the ground.

    You evidently need to label your posts: “Sarcasm”; “Irony”; “Statistical report”, etc. Being a female in the workforce since the days when I thought “cute” was appropriate officewear it drives me crazy when they talk about per centages in this regard. We are not Robots of the Commercial Empire yet. Some of us, male or female, want to be CEOs, some want to be horse groomers. Wanting and being suited are not the same. Being told what you should be and what you want to be are often not the same either. Ambition does not equal ability; you have to have the brains, the talent and the WILL for anything you take on. Nobody can tell you where that lies for you.

    Excuse me, we all missed the opportunity to be gratuitously enraged over the demeaning/sexist/leftist/liberal/rightist/conservative/pinkocommie/Neanderthal/cromagnon license plate: “MISSUS” Whad dey mean by dat??? Oh, the label: uh, making fun of whatever you’ve got.

    Congratulations to the new CEO and GM. I heard some background on her, and she rose up from the production lines so she knows what it’s like to be at every level of auto production. I look forward to the 2015 models after hearing some women talk about what they’d like to see in cars.
    Respectfully,
    C.

    Let us see what she does with the unions, Voltz, and the bad press. I will give her a chance now that the company is no longer owned in part by government. But she has a steep hill to climb. Who cares what gender, anyone would have a steep hill to climb.

    Agreed RT.
    From what I read she wasn’t handed this job.
    She worked her butt off!
    She studied hard in school to earn her degrees, was a dedicated employee who put in the hours necessary to move up and is now the CEO of one of the largest companies in the world.
    All this as she is the daughter of blue-collar immigrant parents.
    Maybe some of the whiners who always complain that there is no way to move up in America and that the sexist, elite “establishment” holds them down should take some notes!

    When is GM going to pay back the $50 billion bailout “loan”?

    @denis1112

    The fed has pumped up all stocks but even so the tax payer was bought out at a 10 billion loss. All to save the Union jobs, is that not nice.
    But Like i said with that gone and under new management, let us see where they go from here. I am willing to give them a 2nd look. But it will be with a real critical, practical eye.

    That kind of sarcasm is tricky, as there are elected high officials in this country dumb enough to actually demand we submit to such a joke.

    @Mr. King

    The weak minds are surrounded by extremely thick skulls so you will NEVER get through to them. Nice try though. And in the last few days Michael has made some very literal posts but you have to have the ability to think for yourself in order to tell what is meant as literal and what is meant as sarcasm and cynicism. I had to read his post all the way through and then read it again to get his point.
    .
    Thanks for trying though.
