NOT what it says. How many nations have commercial reactors, with or blessing, and why do we keep trying to PROMOTE nuclear energy, at home, and for any of our “friends”, including “mini-reactors” to some pretty flakey folks? Oh, right, the MIC doesn’t have the Soviet Union any more, so somebody has to keep our “Stephen KIng fear factor” alive and kicking, and kicking, and kicking.

wow, so you do not see them as a threat? wow, you are very ignorant. The best historical parallel to radical Islamic power is pre war Imperial Japan. But this time Nev Chamberlain Obama is giving them a bomb instead of the other way around. And no wonder you don’t understand Reagan if you think the Soviet Union was not a danger to the world.

And let’s remember that what nuclear technology Iran and North Korea have was given to them by our ally Pakistan in one of the great “whoops! oh, well, what’s done is done” moments of the Bush administration.

Most historians now realise that EVERY US president exaggerated the threat from the USSR. Every Democrat (when there still was a USSR) said, ‘The Republicans claim to be tough on Communism, but they have let the USSR military capacity and nuclear arsenal get far ahead of the US. But as a Democrat, I intend to correct that. I will spend whatever it takes to build up our military and our nuclear capacity until it is equal to or better than that of the USSR.’

And, of course, every Republican said (while there was still a USSR) ‘The Democrats are soft on Communism, they talk about “peaceful co-existence” so they have let the USSR military capacity and nuclear arsenal get far ahead of the US. But as a Republican, I intend to correct that. I will spend whatever it takes to build up our military and our nuclear capacity until it is equal to or better than that of the USSR.’

(In fact, the Soviet nuclear arsenal was always a small fraction of the size of the US nuclear arsenal, but the Soviets had a much larger conventional force.)

Great cartoon. Obama has foolishly agreed that, after the Iranians allow an army of inspectors in to supervise the irreversible destruction of most of their centrifuges, the irreversible dilution of all their 20% enriched uranium, the irreversible destruction of all their heavy water facilities, he will then return a whopping $4 billion of Iranian funds that the US grabbed (out of hundreds of billions).

The Iranians really put one over on Obama.

The best historical parallel to radical Islamic power is pre war Imperial Japan.

How many air craft carriers does Iran have again? Stealth bombers? Even if they got a nuke, they don’t have an ICBM capable of delivering it to the US, & the ‘suitcase bomb’ is fiction.

A nuclear Iran would be much more confident about confronting Israel. Pretending the ayatollah’s would use nuclear weapons against Israel is just plain stupid. Israel has submarine based nukes. Even if Iran made a successful first strike, they would be annihilated by the Israelis. The Iranians are ambitious, not suicidal.

Didn’t you get the memo? Conservatives don’t want any mention of events from 2001-2007. While we were taking care of Saddam’s non-existent WMDs, Pakistan. North Korea developed their nuclear abilities.

Of course, we had to give Pakistan a pass for being our ‘staunch ally’ in the War on Tara. We never would have got Bin Laden or eliminated the Taliban without their help…

Thanks, Uncle Joe, for some historical context. I’d like to see Micheal’s take on this —
