How about cuts that hurt the poor?
    Cut and pasted:
“ThinkProgress examined this trend on three major cable news networks — Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC — since March 6. White House tours were mentioned 33 times as often (Fox News had 163 segments, CNN had 59, and MSNBC had 42) as mentions of other sequester impacts hitting the poor. Any discussion of sequestration’s steep cuts to housing assistance, food assistance programs, and Head Start early education was virtually nonexistent on all 3 networks in the same time frame. Fox News mentioned Head Start three times, ignoring housing and food stamps entirely; MSNBC mentioned Head Start 4 times, food stamps once, and did not cover housing assistance cuts at all. CNN stayed completely silent on all three issues:”

If the poor want help, let them do it the old-fashioned way: buy a few politicians. And a good PR firm would help, too.

The “White House tour” flap is idiotic right-wing bitching about what they caused. The simple fact is, for NPS, and many other agencies, cutting seasonal or part-time staff is always the first and easiest place to make cuts, as the money isn’t already spent, or obligated.

Now, to get really serious, cut the F-35 program, reduce the number of submarines being contracted, end all contracts with KBR or Haliburton, stop subsidizing oil companies with cheap leasing on federal lands, end the 1872 mining act ripoff of our natural resources, and cut foreign aid, starting with Israel, by 100%! (Odd how many started complaining when a few bucks were sent toward Palestinians.)

I don’t believe he took more than one month at any given time, that being said he spent time at his ranch and even paid the secret service lodging by building a double wide on his property to help lower the cost of the stay on the tax payer.

These so-called fiscal wonks in the GOP think you can cut program funding and not have programs cut. Get over it. White House tours cost money. The GOP congress sets budgets. You want White House tours, it’s simple. Fund them. I’m a LOT more worried about the 240,000 Americans thrown out of emergency housing, the thousands of teachers cut, and over $500 million cut from firefighting in the West. Expecting a cooler, wetter summer, are you?
