That darn Nanny State really did a job on our freedom to breath second hand smoke — at restaurants, at bars, at work, on public transportation, pretty much everywhere.
    -
I remember when restrictive laws were starting to go into effect, that the industry that profited from that ‘freedom’ said over and over that all that was needed was a little personal responsibility and consideration and that the Nanny State was destroying our freedom.

New York City, a good place to be from, FAR away from.

Wow, I agree with this statement. I believe all lie-beral places are a good place to be far away from.

It is inevitable the socialists are never happen with just imposing their big brother mentality on the city. They will do it to the state next. There are other examples of this. Look at other socialist run cities and the end result. States like California, Illinois, Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and so on.

Big brother New York City government does do one thing quite well. But nobody has been able to tell me what that thing is because I haven’t been able to see a unicorn with a pink bunny and a fairy standing next to a rainbow.

Finally justice was done on an unconstitutional law. Bloomy feels that since he has more money than common sense, he can buy whatever law he desires. It’s good, right & just that he CAN’T!

Here is the problem with bloom, He thinks he is doing good. He is attacking a symptom not the problem. Big drinks and 7 bullets in a clip are a behavioral chose that has many alternatives to get the same result. Two clips of 7, two cups of drink. Same thing. What did he solve other then tick off those who wish to be legal? Being fat in the USA is a chosen path. How many shots can be fired legally or even illegally has nothing to do with how many are legally allowed in a clip. But it sure does make libs feel good and feel superior. But does nothing in the real world but waste government time and money, And if put through as law waste time and money of those who want to be legal.

Excuse me, I live in Ohio and we are NOT a socialist state. We have a Republican Governor and are doing quite well at this point. Under the last Governor (a Democrat), we had a large deficit. That has been corrected – it always takes a Republican to fix fiscal problems, don’t you know. I still have hope for 2016, that we get a Republican President who can fix the country!

I don’t think a law limiting the size of cups is any good, but why on earth does anyone want to defend a cup with hundreds of calories of sugar?

Meanwhile the Republican leaders in states with the largest obese populations are passing laws to limit nutritional information.

But please in your Obama Saul Alinsky, Hype and blame world how are they making anyone fat by passing laws? Come one put up or shut up.

    ..
Who is defending the cup? It is an inanimate object that libs are afraid of. Maybe evil sugar, In the world of the liberal it is filled with evil sugar that is going to make you fill up and drink every last drop. In doing so it will make you fat, fat. And everyone knows you don’t want to be fat. So those evil cups with the evil sugar must have a good guy to slay it, and that would be nanny bloom! He is out to make the world safe from evil sugar and the evil cup that does the bidding.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, that’s hysterical! and what did bush “fix” economically? right he got rid of the nasty regulations that kept the treasury and the world from getting robbed.

and what about “deficits don’t matter” Reagan, who significantly raised taxes.

OR “I am not a crook” Nixon, who put in wage and price controls.

you were being sarcastic about republicans ‘fixing’ the economy, right?

obviously you and the other liberals posting against NYC have never been here.

NYC does so many things so well that we are the economic dynamo for 2/3rds of the country, we have been relatively unscathed to the economic recession brought on by the bush administration. though we are only a small island off the east coast of the USA, we are a magnet to the world. We have outstanding infrastructure and mass transit and anybody or is anybody (person or corporation) needs a presence here.

so you can take your preconceived notions about a faceless gotham city, and stay away. It is most certainly your loss.

I’m not obese, nor do I particularly like anything with sugar in it. But these are my choices, not yours. What makes you think that anything I eat or drink is any business of yours?
