    Any one remember the Washington personality who said “If you can’t say something nice about someone sit next to me?” Alice Roosevelt Longsworth springs to mind but I’m not too sure if that is correct.

    You are correct. She was quoted in the Dec 9, 1966 issue of Time (the wording was a little different.)
