It all started when Phoebe skipped a rock across a pond and accidentally hit a unicorn in the face. Improbably, this led to Phoebe being granted one wish, and using it to make the unicorn, Marigold Heavenly Nostrils, her obligational best friend. But can a vain mythical beast and a nine-year-old daydreamer really forge a connection?

If Phoebe’s a nerd at school according to Dakota, then what does Dakota consider herself to be therein? Nerd & genius are completely different.

re: iomyaom
They are? When I was in high school, anyone with an IQ of more than 100 or so was a “nerd” by the local party animals.
.
Like many of my contemporaries, I was a “nerd” because I was into the outdoors. The girls just wanted to party. Most still do after a quarter century. It said something when I went back for my M.S. that the exchange student girls liked seeing the flower displays in the region, but the American girls always saw things in terms of parties.

On another site I suggested the classroom from Hell:Agnes, Calvin, Alice and Heart and Dean.
I should have included Dakota!

Very funny. I really wish I hadn’t been listening to music on headphones when I clicked that link…

In other words almost a year ago nothings changed…well except things did get better once Phoebe and Marigold got together…but y’all get my point.

“Nerd & genius are completely different.”
Ahem. I do believe this is an example of a Venn diagram, where of two or more groups there is a subset within which all the groups have members in common. Thus, though not all nerds are geniuses, nor all geniuses nerds, there is a common subset. Your assertion is thus logically and demonstrably incorrect.

“Nerd” is not a word.

And an epithet is an epithet.

All the dictionaries seem to think “nerd” is a word.

I was called a nerd in school, among other things. I think being called a nerd was probably one of the nicist things I was called though. Oh well.

Your rants on this subject have become exceedingly tiresome. Deal with it.
