It all started when Phoebe skipped a rock across a pond and accidentally hit a unicorn in the face. Improbably, this led to Phoebe being granted one wish, and using it to make the unicorn, Marigold Heavenly Nostrils, her obligational best friend. But can a vain mythical beast and a nine-year-old daydreamer really forge a connection?

Asparagus spears do 1d4-3 points of damage.

Phoebe is not amused.

I wonder what Phoebe would do if they were actual spears. Oh wait, no I don’t.

Like popping her word balloon like Cocoa did in Dogs Of C-Kennel (actually, she smashed it with a hammer).

This may be my favorite joke of the strip so far.

Another thing horses and unicorns have in common, an enormous ego. They each believe themselves to be Gods greatest creation and expect all others to treat them as such.
The best way to deflate such an ego is to find her itchy spot. Every horse has one, I would think unicorns would as well. When scratched they will get totally silly.

The “Shield of Boringness” seems to be working

That asparagus spear would be most effective if shoved into heaveanly’s nostril!

Up the nostril: Critical Hit! Double damage!

I notice that Phoebe’s mom (Phoebe Sr?) looks quite a bit like Ms Simpson’s photo on her website. Hank Ketchum did the same thing; he drew Dennis the Menace’s dad to look like himself. I guess it makes sense. As his creator, Mr Ketchum is Dennis’ “Father”.

Marigold is so use to having her flights or narcissism ignored by most everybody that she doesn’t know the impact on other beings like Phoebe.

Perhaps Dana can answer these questions:
“Can Marigold be photographed?”
“If so, if Marigold were photographed, would the ♘✪ Shield of Boringness ✪♘ persist on the photo when Marigold isn’t around?”
What is the sphere of influence for the ♘✪ Shield of Boringness ✪♘?

If Phoebe really wanted to get Marigold to stop talking, all she would have to do is show her a mirror. :)

@Q4horse
Imagine how crushed they must have been to learn that the Gods picked the Olive over the Horse as their greatest creation
