My aunt and uncle woke in the middle of the night to a caterwauling and dog howling. Silly cat had leaped onto their dog’s back and the dog took off. Cat dug in and the dog really took off. Running around the house.

I’ve witnessed that before. In this case, it was a mother cat defending her kittens when one of the ranch dogs known to kill kittens strolled into the neighborhood. It was quite the sight.

My old Siamese tom used to do that. Deliberately. He loved tormenting dogs. Any dog. Any size.
Neighbors German Shepherd was a known cat killer. Until he met Tim…
Last time we saw that dog at our place he was yelping for the hills with the cat gleefully planted on his head back paws/claws digging in and kicking the dogs nose while he tore the heck out of the dogs ears with his teeth.
Tim came home a half hour later looking very smug and the neighbors said the dog ran howling in terror from then on at the sight of any cat.
