Wait’ll Dean finds out whose handwriting’s in that letter, and that he’s the victim of a well-planned April Fool’s joke!

Per William Shatner, his skill with a sword while filming “Amok Time” was inversely proportional to his enthusiasm, and he was VERY enthusiastic. If Kirk appears to be in pain during that scene, it’s because he IS.

He did use a sword pretty decently in the episode,“All Our Yesterdays”,where he fought off an english fop in the 18th (?) century.

In “Naked Time” he was a sword fighter from the 18th century. But not Asian, more French or Briton. I think it is a foil he used.
